Library at Tralee’s Institute of Technology (2008)in association with ABK Architects, Dublin.

This new 3,523m2 Library facility with a 10million value over 3 levels will provide for a reading population of 446 with an additional 25 staff. The design of the treble height space from a fire engineering point of view was the most challenging which also allowed for a sustainable energy efficient design through the use of natural ventilation through louvers and smoke vents to meet the smoke venting requirements. The reliability of the smoke venting system was also improved through the use of the same system for every day’s natural ventilation. The interlinking to the existing B & IT building also provided some means of escape challenges.

Apartments at the Laurels, Dundrum, Dublin (2008) in association with S & P Architects, Dublin.

This 16.5 million development consisted of the construction of 3 blocks of apartments above 2 levels of underground carparking with 4 No. Fire Fighting Shafts. The project is located next to Dundrum Shopping Centre for Tuskar Property holdings. Fire challenges included the natural smoke venting of the basement carpark, smoke venting of the common lobbies to the apartments & radiation to the site boundaries.

This 23 No. apartment old style development timber frame construction fire certificate was obtained in 2004 with a Value of 2.8million

Apartment Development, Killarney, Co. Kerry (2009) in association with O’Sullivan Campbell Architects, Killarney - This newly refurbished presbytery building was converted to apartments with the fire certificate obtained by BHA in 2007.
